In 1992 at the age of 20, Cameron joined his first professional band. In “Spoon” he played keyboards, guitar and vocals. This culminated in several east coast tours. He left in early 1995 to start his solo career, playing piano and acoustic guitar at local clubs and restaurants. The following year he became the voice of an RTA national add campaign. During 1996 he also began recording his debut CD, which was released in 1997.
Then in 1999, he appeared on ABC TV’s “Australian Story” having a master class with world renowned concert pianist, Roger Woodward. In 2000 he started work on his second CD. Like his first, he wrote, recorded, produced and played all instruments. This was released in 2001. 3 tracks from the album made it to the final rounds of the ABC song contest and “Never Surrender” took out the “Best Song/Solo Acoustic” award.
Cameron has also worked in local radio and TV, and has taught songwriting, acting and radio at the WEA. He has started work on his third CD and hopes to become a successful ‘all round’ entertainer. Playing all your favourite covers from the 60’s to now and everything in between!
